I haven’t been neglecting my blog, i’ve just been so busy the past few weeks with the show and then trying to recover to get straight into working quite allot that i haven’t had the time to sit down properly and think which is sad because quite allot has happened.
Boy From Oz completely blew me away in regards to the feedback and hype we received from the audience. We sold out completely in the second week and had nearly full houses in the first. To play every night to an audience that was receptive and seemed to really enjoy being a part of the show was such an amazing experience, if not completely exhausting. But that really is the magic of Peter Allen. And really the magic of Jordan White who played Peter and who gave such an honest and amazing performance every show, every night. At the Arts Centre at the moment there is an exhibition of Peter Allen’s life right from the start of his career to his death from an HIV/AIDS related illness in 1992. It becomes quite an emotional experience when you see footage of Peter performing as your surrounded by costumes he wore and other possessions of his from when he was writing songs.
Last week i started work at my new job, its working on the Set the Scene exhibition at ACMI – the Australian Centre of the Moving Image. Its alot of standing around but i don’t mind it. Its quite a fun place to work and everyone seems really nice so far so looks like its going to be a good place for me.
I actually have to go work there now, so lots more to come!
